What is Lumecca Peak?

Lumecca is a cutting-edge treatment that utilizes the power of intense pulsed light (IPL) to improve skin clarity and rejuvenate your appearance.

How does it work?

Lumecca IPL device emits light energy that penetrates the skin and targets pigmented spots and vascular lesions. The pulses of light break down excess melanin and blood vessels in the dermis, while bypassing the epidermis. Your body naturally eliminates these broken down cells, revealing clearer, more even skin.

After treatment, lesions will come closer and closer to the surface of the skin and eventually turn into a coffee-ground like texture and fall off the surface of the skin.

Treatment Process

Your Lumecca Peak treatment begins with a consultation with one of our experts. During this consultation, the expert will:

Here are some guidelines to follow ahead of the procedure:

  • Avoid tanning 4-6 weeks before treatment and use SPF 30 or higher sunblock if you spend time outdoors.

  • Avoid topical irritant agents for 2-3 days before treatment

  • Avoid anticoagulants for 7-10 days before treatment, if medically permitted by your physician.

  • On the day of treatment, avoid wearing lotion, makeup, or other heavy skincare products over the treatment area and choose comfy clothes that allow easy access to the treatment areas.
 

Duration: 20-30 minutes

Treatment Area: Face & Body

Step-by-Step Guide:

  • Lumecca settings will be adjusted according to your skin type, lesion type, and comfort level.

  • Glasses will be provided for eye protection.

  • Cooling gel will be applied to your skin.

  • The Lumecca handpiece will be moved across the treatment area, emitting pulses on light.

  • You might experience a light tap on your skin, similar to a rubber band snap, but it is generally well-tolerated and not painful.

There is no downtime after your Lumecca treatment. Most patients can return to their normal activities immediately after treatment.

You may experience mild redness or a warming sensation in the treated area, which usually subsides within a few hours. 

To ensure best results:

  • Avoid sun exposure and continue applying sunscreen to protect the treated area for 2 weeks as it heals.

  • Use gentle skin care for 7 days and avoid hot water and exfoliants.

  • If needed, a cool compress can be used on the treatment area for comfort.

  • If and when lesions travel to the surface of the skin, let the coffee-ground textures spots naturally fall off. Picking or interfering with the lesions may result in scarring or hyper-pigmentation.

 

Lumecca treatments are typically administered in a series of 3 sessions, scheduled 3-4 weeks apart.

Improvements can be seen within the first week, with maximum results seen around 4 weeks. However, optimal results typically become noticeable after completing the full treatment series of 3 sessions.

Results can last for several months to years, especially with proper skincare and sun protection. Annual maintenance treatments may be recommended to help prolong the effects.

After treatment, patients may experience mild redness or warmth, similar to a mild sunburn.

These side effects are temporary and typically subside within a few hours.
